    Bali & Flores, Indonesia

I went with a few friends to Bali and Flores in the end of June. We were told it was dry season, and according to every source it is indeed dry season, but it poured and poured and poured every day for us. We got a few hours¬†here and there of no rain, so we would get out and try to do a few activities (and a some instagrammable pictures ūüėČ ). We stayed at the¬†Dipan Resort in Seminyak, Bali. It was perfect for us. I would say it was more of a budget option, but it was still very nice. Given there were enough of us, we got…

    Canary Islands, Spain

I went with my family to Tenerife, not expecting the best weather in early April, but we got pretty lucky. It was warm enough most days to lay by the pool, and while it was freezing, we even went into the ocean. We stayed on the south side of the island, and to be honest, we didn’t do much exploring. I had wanted to do some hiking while we were there, but it was nice to just completely relax and unplug. One morning we went for a run along the water in¬†Alcal√°, which has gorgeous black sand beaches. The only other “activity” was going into San Juan town for really…

    Mallorca, Spain

This was my first adventure to a European beach, and I was so excited. I went with a few friends, and we rented a house on AirBnB. The house was so old-school Spain. I felt like I was living in a different era, but it was the perfect place for ten of us to stay for the weekend. We¬†unfortunately didn’t do much sightseeing on this trip, as it was so short, but we did drive by the Palma Cathedral a few times. It’s this massive cathedral, and completely breathtaking. Next time, it would be worth walking around a bit more, and¬†I hear there are great hikes throughout the mountains…

    Cuba

I went to Cuba with a company called¬†Insights Cuba. I wouldn’t recommend them, but I made it back alive and safe, so it was okay in the end. The company had us stay at the Melia Varadero, which is a very moderate, old-fashion hotel. There are some nicer hotels around Cuba, especially on the beach, but it was good enough for a long weekend. I flew to Varadero‚Äôs airport, Juan Gualberto Gomez airport. I got there early afternoon and went straight to the resort. The next morning we went to a sugar cane museum, which was nice, but it’s no longer a working sugar cane factory, so it was…

    Zanzibar, Tanzania

I was spending some time in Nairobi, so I decided a little getaway to Zanzibar would be a fun adventure. We stayed at the¬†Protea Hotel Zanzibar Mbweni Ruins, which is a part of the Marriott hotel group. It’s on the west side of island, very close to the airport, and only 15 minutes from Stone Town (the downtown area of Zanzibar’s main island). The hotel was very nice, and perfect if you want to use hotel points. If you’re looking to explore more of the island, or a very luxurious hotel, there are some other options all around the island. We arrived late in the evening, so when we…

    Hawaii

I went with my family to Hawaii for ten days, and it was magical. I had been dying to go to Hawaii for years, and it didn’t disappoint. We went to Maui first and stayed in¬†Wailea, the southwestern part of the island, and literally everything was stunning. The first few days we just relaxed by the pool and walked along the ocean. Every night we explored a bit for dinner. You can get incredible fresh fish at every restaurant, which is perfect for my family. Our favorite was Mama’s Fish House, but we enjoyed all the restaurants we went to (Morimoto Maui, Monekypod, Mala). We didn’t make it to…
