I went with my family to the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa for a few days and it was magical. It was colder than normal, but it was still so nice. The energy of the whole place is calm and peaceful and all of the staff are incredibly wonderful and helpful. The property is gorgeous and expansive. Each day we would do a thirty to forty minute walk around the property to explore.
We borrowed bikes one day and rode to Ventura Beach. It was definitely a long ride, and not the prettiest, so we ended up having them pick us up on the way back. But, it was fun to ride around and the next day we rode into downtown Ojai, which is probably a 30 minute walk so a quick bike ride. The Ojai town is worth going into. It’s an adorable, small California town with some shops and cafes.
We mostly ate on property, they had a great breakfast! But two nights we went into town for dinner. The first was to Suzanne’s cuisine (which has sadly now been closed), and the second was to Azu Restaurant and Bar which was an adorable neighborhood restaurant. It was super casual, which we really like, and the food was enjoyable, with something for everyone.
If you’re looking for a place to go and relax for a long weekend, definitely check out Ojai. It was a little oasis not too far from LA.
